What this paycheck calculator does

Estimate gross pay and common payroll deductions to understand how much of a paycheck may reach your bank account.

How to use the calculator

Enter pay frequency, earnings and the available tax and deduction inputs. Treat the result as an estimate because withholding depends on your W-4 information, benefits, retirement contributions, state rules and other circumstances.

How the calculation works

The calculator estimates gross pay and applies the selected withholding assumptions and deductions. Federal tax calculations use applicable 2026 parameters in the current build; state and local treatment can vary.

What the result means

Example: changing annual hours or the filing status can materially change the federal estimate, while state and local withholding remains outside this simplified model.

Important assumptions and limitations

A paycheck estimate is not the same as your final tax liability. IRS withholding tables and your employerโ€™s payroll system determine actual withholding. Compare the result with your pay stub and current IRS guidance.

Frequently asked questions

What taxes does this paycheck estimate include?
The calculator estimates federal income tax and employee FICA using simplified annual assumptions. State and local taxes and detailed W-4 withholding are not included.
Are the 2026 tax brackets current?
The calculator uses the published 2026 federal standard deductions and tax brackets. Tax law and withholding guidance can change, so verify important results with the IRS.
Why won't my actual paycheck match?
Actual withholding depends on pay frequency, W-4 entries, benefits, state and local taxes, credits, supplemental wages and employer payroll settings.
Does FICA include Social Security and Medicare?
Yes. The estimate includes Social Security up to the annual wage base and Medicare, with the Additional Medicare Tax threshold modeled by filing status.
