U.S. federal income-tax estimates use 2026 ordinary income brackets and the standard deduction for the selected filing status, unless you enter an itemized deduction amount. Payroll and self-employment modes use the 2026 Social Security wage base and applicable Medicare thresholds. Capital-gains estimates apply the 2026 U.S. federal long-term preferential-rate thresholds or ordinary rates for short-term gains.
Sales tax, VAT / GST, property tax, and custom-rate calculations use rates you enter. The calculator does not automatically identify your country, state, municipality, or tax jurisdiction.
This is an educational estimate, not tax preparation or legal advice. Federal income-tax results do not model every deduction, credit, special deduction, alternative minimum tax, net investment income tax, state tax, local tax, or individual filing circumstance. The capital-gains estimate excludes state and local taxes and the net investment income tax. Payroll and self-employment estimates do not replace a paycheck withholding calculation. Rate-based modes use the user-supplied rate and currency and do not confirm the rate is correct for a particular transaction or location. Verify important results against current official guidance or a qualified tax professional.
